Summer Courses at Haileybury |
|
We organise residential English language summer courses for an international mix of junior students, aged 10-17 years, in Haileybury, a beautiful private school, located close to London. Haileybury College, founded by Royal Charter, is one of Britain’s major schools. It is located in Hertford , 25 miles north of London. It’s impressive buildings, many of them designed by William Wilkins (architect of the National Gallery in London) stand in 350 acres of parkland and gardens. |

English Lessons |
|
20 lessons (15 hours) of English language tuition are provided each week by qualified and experienced teachers. Lessons are in General English, British Culture and the ISC Summer Project. There is a maximum of 15 students per class; the average is 13. For the ISC Summer project, students prepare their topic in class and then perform in the theatre at the end of the course. Students can also choose to have an extra 5 hours of English lessons each week. |

Accommodation, classrooms and sports facilities |
Students accommodation is in single, twin and multi-bedded rooms. There is a kitchen and common room in each house. Full board is provided in the elegant wood-panelled dining hall. |

Sports facilities at Haileybury are outstanding. There is a new indoor swimming pool and a large modern sports hall for basketball and badminton. There are also 8 tennis courts, a volleyball court, 2 football pitches and lots of playing fields. For non-sporting activities we provide a fully equipped theatre, dance rooms, and arts and crafts areas. |

Classrooms are spacious and well equipped with videos, TVs and tape recorders. The college staff are friendly and considerate, and help make the students feel welcome. |
|

|
Social program |
|
Two of three times a week, students are taken off campus to visit local places of interest. There are trips to London, Cambridge, St. Albans, Windsor and Hertford. Trips are prepared in class so that students benefit fully from their experience. Optional trips are also offered on Sundays, at extra cost. |
